I watched Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson’s new film, Song Sung Blue, at a private screening held at The London Hotel in West Hollywood a few days ago. The presentation was followed by an intimate conversation with the director and the film’s two stars, in an exclusive session for journalists.
The story follows Mike and Claire Sardina, a couple from Milwaukee who performed as “Lightning and Thunder,” a musical duo dedicated to paying tribute to their idol, Neil Diamond. The film’s title references Diamond’s classic song of the same name and explores the love story between the two. Craig Brewer wrote and directed the film.
Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson both sing, and truly captivate, in this romantic musical filled with moments of joy and heartbreak, sure to resonate with audiences. The film had its world premiere at the 2025 AFI Film Festival on October 26 and will be released in the United States by Focus Features on December 25.
